Rendez-vous à la Villa « Les Rhumbs » à Granville pour assister à l’exposition
en son honneur jusqu’au 25 septembre 2011.
« Dior, le Bal des Artistes », exposée dans la maison d’enfance du grand
couturier, retrace les nombreuses inspirations artistiques, autant historiques
que culturelles, des différents créateurs qui ont fait vivre la maison Dior.
Une exposition en deux parties, l’une qui présente l’ascension de Christian
Dior, alors galeriste et artiste dans l’âme, des années 1930 à son apogée en
1947 ; l’autre qui explique comment ce cher couturier français, devenu l’un
des meilleurs de son temps, a associé mode, création et art, grâce à des
photographies, des sculptures ou des peintures faites par les artistes dont
il s’est entouré durant sa vie ou même, quand on pense à John Galliano,
ses successeurs.

“Dior, the Dance of the Artists”, exhibited in the childhood house of the great
designer, recounts the plentiful artistic inspirations, historic as well as
cultural, from the different designers who made the Dior House living.
An exhibition in two parts, one which introduces the Christian Dior’s
climbing, who was then a gallery owner and an artiste in his mind, from
the 1930’s to his peak in 1947; the other part which explains how this great
French designer, become one of the best in his time, succeeded to
associate fashion, creation and art, thanks to photography, sculptures
or paints made by artists of whom he was enclosed during his life or
even, when we think about John Galliano, his successors.
